[ Kaisa has a wide range of emotions that she is perfectly happy to display, but then there are ones that she hates--ones that shows weakness, that show that she's not nearly as impenetrable as she likes to act. These are the emotions that she avoids, and they are the ones crowding her head as it gets closer to Herc's wake.
Luckily, she knows tricks for ignoring it. Which is what brings her to Raylan's room, knocking on the door, then taking a step back, a smirk on her lips, and a hand on her hips. And, of course, as soon as she sees Raylan, she has a super suave pick up line waiting. ]
Hey there. I was just looking at my shirt, and it occurred to me that it'd look a lot better on your floor.
It took a couple of tries to get Raylan to open the door instead of hollering at the knock to go away. Then, it took Raylan a second to even understand what she was saying, his face only showing confusion. Finally, it clicked, and he started laughing.
"Is that a fact?" he asked, leaning in the doorjam. "And you came to test that theory, didja?"
Kaisa looked absolutely shameless at having managed to annoy him enough to get the door open, grinning unrepentantly at him. And at his laugh, the grin only broadened. She shifted her hips, because Maker knew she had great hips, and there's no harm in bringing attention to them.
"That's what I figured on. It's all that science stuff, yeah? You think of a theory and then ya test it. Usually several times, just to make sure." She spreads her hands, palms up. The picture of innocence, right here. "Those are just some facts I'm throwing down."
"Well, I guess we better get to testin', huh?" he asked, reaching out to take her hand and guide her inside. His room wasn't very impressive -- the "Inquisition research and development" appeared to be a table with two books and a small work knife on it. There was a chair, and enough candles to have it well-lit, and a bed pushed against one wall. She'd get a chance to look around for a second, although Raylan was snaking an arm around her waist already.
"Feel free to smack me and storm on out," he said, "if at any point in the testing you get tired of it. And I won't push for anything you don't want." He just wanted to make it clear that he wasn't one of those 'once you start it you're stuck here' assholes. He didn't know what had prompted this near-stranger to show up at his door and hit on him, but he might as well establish some ground rules.
She gives the room a quick look, wondering briefly if this was normal for him, or a product of circumstances. Mages, nonmages, all kinds of people had been rushed out of their lives without being able to grab much. She doesn't dwell on it for too long, Raylan being a nicely distracting presence. She leans in as he wraps his arm around her, nodding appreciatively at his words. Always nice, when people reassured her that they weren't assholes.
"Two things." And she held up two fingers. "One, don't tie me up. Two, don't call me anything disrespectful. Whore or slut or whatever, it doesn't fly. I'll tell you if something rubs me the wrong way. But the same goes t' you, let me know if you're not feeling something, you want me to change something, or you're just sick of my face." She shrugs amicably. "We can use safe words if you're into that, or we can just talk it out."
Well. Okay then. Raylan hadn't expected her to be so open, but you know what? This was definitely a better way to accomplish it than guessing games, so he nodded once when she was finished speaking. "Ain't much into bein' disrespectful, and don't even have the means to tie anyone up," he said. "And I believe 'no' and the like will suffice." The offer of a safeword was intriguing, though. Saying that just saying no would be enough didn't mean there was nothing sharper that appealed to him.
Kaisa was never particularly fond of guessing games like that, particularly when she had some serious issues with things that were not particularly uncommon. And when she traveled as much as she had, before all of this. She nodded at his words, and once that business was out of the way, went back to smiling, tilting her head at him.
"Excellent. You know, I had this chat on the crystals about safe words for people, and it was pretty interesting. There was this kid--dunno how old he was. Young, though. Asked me what it was for, trying t' figure out why 'no' didn't always work. Now, I don't blame people for not knowing, but how'm I supposed to explain why some people might like saying 'no' to a kid? Maker's ass." Even as she chatters away, her hand made its way to Raylan's chest, drifting casually up. Just getting a feel for what she was working with.
"Is that right?" She wasn't really giving him an opening, so he just went for her neck. He started with a series of slow kisses, figuring she'd get the picture -- talking time was over now -- and quiet down, or at least shift to something a little more inspiring. That might be nice. He had far too much of a one-track mind to be chatty.
No one would ever accuse Kaisa of being particularly clever, but she's not a complete idiot, either. She can take a hint or two, and Raylan has thrown at least three out there. And has offered a nice distraction to go with it. So she tilts her head to give him more room, fingers moving under the hem of his shirt.
"Mm. What about you, Raylan?" Those fingers, rough and calloused, grazed up his skin, while she murmured in a quieter tone. "Do you like having someone pressing you to the brink, taking your pleasure in their hands and making you earn it?" She shifted, just enough to press up against him, hands drifting to his hips. "Or do you like to have the power, and watch someone squirm under you, begging for release?"
It was, hopefully, at least the kind of talk he'd be more amenable to.
In hindsight, Raylan should have guessed that a chatty type would be good at talking this way, too, but it took him by surprise. There was a breathless chuckle, and a moment before Raylan managed to speak.
"Definitely that first one," he said, getting a firmer grip on her waist so he could guide her toward the little bed -- it wasn't fancy-looking, but it was comfortable. "Hope that's amenable to you, Taisa."
She can't help but smirk at his response, pretty pleased that he seemed quite taken with it. And she opens her mouth to continue, now that she knows what he prefers, but then--
Taisa.
For a second, there's no reaction but a blank stare as she tries to figure out just what he's saying. Then it clicks, and her expression drops into one of displeasure, lips forming a thin line. She takes a step away from him, hands pulling away to rest on her hips.
"Your...name...?" Raylan was squinting. Clearly he'd fucked up one way or another, but he had no idea how. They'd only met once or twice before, after all, but her name was Taisa, right? "What? Why are you looking at me like that?"
"That," Kaisa crosses her arms, looking at him with an unamused expression. "Isn't my name." She's not angry, not when they've only just met, but his lack of attention paid, when she'd managed to remember his name, is slightly vexing. Not a deal breaker, though, and she doesn't make any moved to leave. Just stares at him expectantly.
Well, shit. Raylan had no idea what it might be, if it wasn't Taisa. It wasn't that he hadn't been paying attention, just that they'd only spoken the once and despite the flirting, he hadn't expected to jump to such interactions as this so quickly.
"Is...it...Laisa?" He was grasping at straws, here, but prepared to stop her and offer to make it up to her, if she tried to leave.
"Kaisa. My name is Kaisa, Laylan." Because, you know, Kaisa is in fact a mature adult who does mature adult things like get mad at name mistakes and react by messing up their name. But she didn't seem entirely angry, just ruffled, arms crossed and raising an eyebrow at him. She, for one, was pretty used to moving this fast--sometimes faster, if someone had caught her eye and she'd be leaving soon. The life of a roaming Grey Warden. Ruining daughters, etc etc.
Fair enough, he deserved that. He let it pass without comment. "Kaisa. I'm sorry." He stepped closer, giving her his best smalls-dropping smile, and reached out as if to touch her, but his hands hovered over her arms. He wouldn't without permission. "Let me make it up to you, eh?"
She arched a brow at him, tapping her chin thoughtfully. But it wasn't much of a debate--he's pretty cute, after all. And that smile is pretty charming. So she nods, and moves to close the distance between them again, resting a hand lazily on his hip. "Well, I suppose it couldn't hurt t' let your mouth get you back outta trouble." And she gave his neck a quick peck, before whispering in his ear. "And I think you'd look damn cute between my thighs."
"Precisely what I was thinking," he agreed, and he turned, guiding her along with until the back of her knees hit the edge of the bed. He knelt down before she could sit, glancing up at her with a little smirk as he got her pants undone. The plan was to get them down below her knees, then have her sit so he could get the boots and then get them off. He had long experience; this was the smoothest way to do it.
If anyone knows how to get clothes off quickly, Kaisa figures, it's probably a circle mage. Although they had the convenience of robes in the circles--but still. She lets him unbutton her pants, and sits when prompted, leaning back to watch him. She makes no moves to actually contribute, but does reach to run her fingers through his hair.
"Good job," A smirk is playing across her face as she murmurs, fingers gripping his hair, just slightly. Even undressing can be a power play, if you do it right.
Raylan let his eyes close in contentment for the briefest moment as she ran her fingers through his hair, looking happy as a clam. He leaned forward, kissing the inside of her knee as he got her boots off without looking, one and then the other. He was trailing upward slowly, each kiss taking him a little bit closer, but he'd hardly covered a quarter of the distance by the time her pants were off and discarded.
"Ready?" he asked, and that was the only warning Kaisa got before Raylan hauled her forward, getting her ass to the edge of the bed and both of her legs up over his shoulders in one smooth move. He didn't waste any time now, burying his mouth against her and letting his tongue seek and explore. He had his arms wrapped around her thighs, lightly keeping her in place and putting his hands close enough that he could use them if he had to.
She's well and ready, and allows herself to be hauled and maneuvered. His tongue is met with a gentle gasp, the grip on his hair tightening, pulling him closer to her. Then she loosens her grip, letting her hand lazily pet his hair.
"You like this, don't you? Being on your knees. Right where you belong, isn't it?"
Oh, maker, she was going to talk him through it, wasn't she? He was weak to talk like that, it woke up some voice deep inside him -- yes, this is where you belong, this is what you deserve. It made his cock twitch inside his pants, and his mouth work a little harder, tongue pushing inside her as deep as he could get it while his thumb came down, pressing and rubbing just lightly on her clit.
Well. She gasps loudly at his burst of, ah. Enthusiasm. So, he liked that kind of talk, she took it. Well, she can certainly deliver. Between her shudders, she takes a tighter grip on his hair, leaning forward a little to hiss to him.
"You already know, huh? And you like it, like a good little slut." She pauses at that point, loosening her hold enough that Raylan can pull away and give a sign of dislike, if he's not feeling that kind of language.
No sign of dislike was forthcoming, and his only pause was the brief ones he was already taking, for an occasional breath of air, always keeping his fingers going when he had to do that. He seemed perfectly content to stay down here and lick away at her until she said otherwise, not caring what had brought her to his bed or why. She was here now, and he was completely focused on her.
She won't say otherwise, not for a while. It's a rhythm that's easy to get into, and she lets herself enjoy it for a while. Just focusing on the sensations and feelings, it's easy to ignore anything else. Any of the other emotions crowding in her head. And she stays like that, until that familiar sensation begins to build, spreading through her limbs with a delicious energy. One hand grips Raylan, the other balls into a fist, pressing into her lips as she comes. The fist muffles her loud gasps somewhat, in consideration of anyone else running around nearby. And a few moments later, she relaxes, scooting back to give Raylan some room.
He wiped his face off with a broad swipe of the hand, and grinned up at her. "Toldja it could get me outta trouble."
Raylan remained on his knees, still hard in his trousers but not feeling any particular urgency about it now. He was waiting for some signal whether Kaisa intended to go or stick around for awhile.
"You weren't lying." She scooted back towards the edge of the bed, eyes flicking over him, before returning to his face, hands plopping on her thighs. "So, you wanna trade places, or do you have anything else in mind?" Because she may not be the best at manners, but she's not a damn barbarian who walks out without even offering. Sounds like something an Orlesian would do, if you ask her.
Raylan shrugged. "Ain't all that urgent. I'm fine without, 'less you had some burnin' need." He wasn't dumb enough to turn down someone who really wanted to suck his dick, of course, but he wasn't interested enough for obligation blowjobs just because he was hard. "It'd take awhile, I'm not quick," he humblebragged, pretending it was a warning.
Tim had been having a perfectly nice wander around the lower courtyard when some git had handed him a package and sent him towards some arcane researcher in the lower parts of the keep. It had been tempting to leave it on a ledge somewhere, but his newfound commitment towards being a useful member of society encouraged him to actually follow the directions.
He eyed the sign posted on the door, decided to ignore it, and knocked.
Raylan sighed, audible through the door, but got up and came to the door. He took the parcel and almost didn't notice who it was holding it. He was already half-turned back to his desk when he figured it out, stopping in his tracks.
Tim, on the other hand, recognized Raylan as soon as he came to the door. When it seemed like Raylan didn't notice him, he wasn't gonna say anything, but then Raylan stopped. "Uh, hey, Raylan. I thought you were never gonna leave that cave in the woods."
"Let's compromise on 'hovel'." Tim leaned against the doorway, crossing his arms and trying not to look uncomfortable. "No, but after watching the officers cut down another innocent family 'cause they might be abominations I decided I needed a drink and I didn't bother going back."
Raylan grimaced. Most templars were decent, but enough were assholes that it became a problem after the rebellion. "Well, it's a lot better here. Let's sit," he said, gesturing to a rickety table and two chairs under a torch nearby, a place to sit without inviting people into his room.
"That's what everyone says." Tim settled into the chair lazily. He'd lost a lot of that Templar stiffness since he deserted. "How long've you been here?"
"Wouldn't wanna go living up to your name," he agreed with a little smile. "When I got here I gave myself a few days to settle, then found that and turned it into a lab, started reading everything they got in the library. Been teachin' kids again, too." He'd always loved doing so, but there'd been no one to teach since the circles fell.
"That doesn't sound half-bad." He ignored the crack about his name because he'd been ignoring those for his entire life. "There a lot of kids around here? I thought it was like a war camp."
"It is," Raylan agreed. "Most refugee kids are stayin' with their parents, going wherever they go. Mage kids ain't got nowhere, though. Nowhere but here," he said, gesturing around them. "So if you see a kid around, most likely they'd be in a circle if they still existed."
That little fuzz-out wasn't lost on Raylan. He took a second with that offer, trying to pin down what that had been about. He decided not to poke at it just yet (see? he's grown).
"I oughta get back to what I was doin'," Raylan said, avoiding labeling it as work. "But I'll come find ya when I come up for dinner."
